Stuart’s own introduction is four lines long and does the job: over twenty years of experience in plumbing and heating, a reliable and sound service to every client, based in Harrogate, working across North and West Yorkshire. There is no origin story on his website and there is not one here either — nothing has been invented to pad it out.
What those twenty years buy you is the unglamorous kind of expertise. Knowing which fault code is worth driving out for and which one is a reset. Knowing that a radiator cold at the bottom is a system problem and not a radiator problem. Knowing what a heat pump will and will not do in a Yorkshire stone house before anyone has ordered anything.
It is a sole trader business: one man, one van, no subcontractors and no office. That has a cost — the diary is tighter than a big firm’s and Stuart cannot be in two places at once — and it has a benefit that his customers keep describing in their own reviews: the same person turns up, year after year, already knowing your system.
The range is the unusual part. Air source heat pumps, installed in full and then serviced annually, alongside natural gas and LPG boilers, gas fires, radiators and pipework. Gas work is carried out as a Gas Safe registered engineer — Gas Safe registered (No. 570568), quoted here exactly as Stuart publishes it on his own site rather than as an independently verified claim. Ask to see the card; every registered engineer carries one.

A sole trader with one van. Stuart takes the call, looks at the system, prices the work and carries it out. If something is not right afterwards, you ring the same number and get the same person — not a different van with no history of your house.

Advice aimed at your running costs, not at a bigger invoice
Heat pump enquiries start with whether your house is ready for one — insulation, radiator sizing, hot water and controls — before anything is quoted. If a repair is the sensible answer instead of a replacement, that is what you will be told.

Stuart is based in Pannal, a few minutes south of Harrogate, and his own site describes the patch as North & West Yorkshire. Emergency plumbing is the one exception: that is kept to Harrogate and the surrounding villages, because a genuine emergency is only useful if someone can actually get there.

Home ground. Boiler services, heat pump work, gas fires and the plumbing in between — and the only part of the patch where emergency plumbing is offered.
Knaresborough & the villages
Regular ground, including landlords running more than one property on the same round. Emergency plumbing covers the villages immediately around Harrogate.
